Next up is Linda… Linda is our fab school cook and she has enjoyed cycling to school this week!
Charles and Lauren’s mum told us the following:
‘We usually walk to and from school anyway but lately Charles has been biking too. Here he is in action this morning – zooming past me. Also some flowers that Lauren found!’
Harry and Zoe have been walking to school when they can, they were enjoying some rare warm weather this morning!
Miss Marley, Miss Topping and Mr Barron embraced walk to school week today and all walked together! Miss Marley lives the closest to school so they decided to park and walk from her house. We had a lovely walk to school ️
Hiba shared this lovely photo and explanation of hers, Adam’s and the girls walk to school! “Aya’s and Alia’s walking route to school is like being on an adventure.
The path we walk on nowadays was once a railway line, with trains carrying coal running between the coal mines and the ship yard. The plaque you see symbolises the old train track that is now a distant memory of Hebburn’s olden days.
It is also filled with greenery. The trees are the home of many squirrels. We play a game of “spot the squirrel” every time we walk down that path.”
Daniel and Lucy would like to share that their best furry friend was 1 yesterday!
Mam, Amanda, told us, ‘we love any excuse to celebrate, and we’ve had lots of fun making a doggy birthday cake and getting Mabel some fun presents!’
Daniel and Lucy have loved riding their bikes to and from school today. They usually walk most days so it was nice to have a change! Mam forgot the helmets on the way home, but both Daniel and Lucy were very careful and were very sensible stopping at the main road until mam caught up!
Well this morning didn’t go to plan! I was 2.5 miles into my 10 mile bike ride to St Oswald’s and realised I had a flat tyre. Even though my Mam graciously drove to my aid with a tyre pump, I was unable to pump the tyre up as it was punctured! Unfortunately that meant I had to drive in today, however I’ll be parking up and walking in on Thursday to still do my bit! Thanks to everyone who is taking part so far and please, continue to join us on this amazing opportunity to get fitter together 🙂

‘Isabella and Isaac walked back from school to Nanna’s House where Mammy had parked the car. They blew dandelions and collected sticks along the way.’
Isaac and Phoebe walk to school every week so they have mixed it up a bit and they are both biking to school! We love that you’re both mixing it up a bit and that you’re both regular walkers!
