St. Oswald’s were super lucky this morning and were visited by Jeriah from First News! We were shown how to film a snippet of news and learned that, often, filming for the TV has to be repeated so that all camera angles are covered. Y5 loved this and have not stopped talking about it all morning!
Thank you to all of our parents & carers for supporting us and keeping this a tip top secret!
‘So this weekend has been very special and gave us all a big surprise, Jackson’s baby brother was born and 6 weeks early.
Mam and baby still in hospital but both doing well and hoping to have them home soon.’
‘Ellie has just done her first cheer competition today with Poppletons school of Dance. She got to the semi final with the partners dance and the group dance came first. Despite being nervous Ellie bossed it and loved every minute of it !!! The Nichols are super super duper proud of her. Woohooo!’
Our Anna and Lucy have had a big weekend, this weekend! ‘They both danced really hard and Anna got 4th place in the 8s and under age group, Lucy placed 7th in the 9s and under age group. It was the first solo trophy for both of them. On top of that they both placed 1st with their Squad routine. We are so proud of them!’
Here she is, raring to go after day two – our lovely Forest School Leader lady, Mrs O’Doherty! Today, she mastered knots, made a shelter, created a fire and was trusted with a bush craft knife… Can we get a whoop whoop for our Mrs O’Doherty?! Tomorrow, she is taking raw ingredients and wild campfire cooking! Can you believe how even more exciting are our Forest School sessions are going to be now?
Our Zachary and Bodhi were given a very special gift this Christmas after a particularly tricky start to the break, with a pretty poorly Bodhi – a holiday to Disneyland! They had a wonderful time with mam and sister, Lola, making magical memories!
Our lovely Mrs O’Doherty has had an AMAZING day today on day one of her Forest Leader course! Mrs O’Doherty has learned so much, has lots of new ideas (has had a quiet cuppa) and is eager to spend the day doing everything fire and bush craft… Mrs O’Doherty will be bringing her new skills back to support all of our gorgeous children, we cannot wait!
‘Dan and Lucy have had a fab Christmas, and December in general! Firstly, at the beginning of December uncle Chris and aunty Amber came over from Australia, the first time we have seen them in 3 years. Then uncle Simon, aunty Julie and cousin Ewan came up from Staffordshire to celebrate mom’s birthday, we all had a brilliant time. Lucy has been to see Disney on Ice and we went to the lovely Christingle service at our church, St John’s. We’ve had breakfast with Santa, tea with the elves and a road trip to mom’s home to celebrate uncle Simon’s birthday and have some family time. Christmas Eve we went bowling, Lucy won! We had a fab Christmas day with grandma, grandad and aunty Irene who is 97! New Years Eve we had a meal with grandma and grandad then celebrated playing games, watching films and sparklers at midnight! We have all been very lucky to have had such wonderful family time. We wish you all a very happy new year!!’
‘Anya and AJ had an amazing Christmas, which was made a million times better when their cousins who live in Canada, and they haven’t seen in over three years, came back to visit!’ 😊
