Well this email certainly made us smile:
‘Eeee I don’t know, Maddie spends all day in school with teachers and now seeing them out of school bumping in to Mrs Dixon at rock climbing! Maddie’s so happy because next time, Maddie and Mrs Dixon are going to have a race!’
‘On Saturday’ Lottie competed at Legacy Cheer and Dance Stand Strong 2024 with her Cheer team GLOW. They Hit Zero on the floor which means they got a perfect score with no deduction, placing an incredible 1st place in their division.’
In honour of Shrove Tuesday this week, tonight we had a pancake night at Chicken & Duck club! We enjoyed some waffles and pancakes around the fire, and loaded them up with allllll the toppings! What a way to end our last club night of the half term!
This morning St. Oswald’s shared their songs during praise through music.
KS1 worked together to kick it all off with an Agents of Change masterpiece! We then had Miss Topping’s rap group showcase a bit of Stormzy. Followed by Miss Marley’s pop group with a bit of Shakira. Mr Richardson’s group then delivered a folk-rock song called Build Your Kingdom which was then followed by Mrs Chalder’s pop group with a bit of Michael Jackson.
Who knew so many musical artists are agents of change?!
In whole school collective worship this week, we learned about two prophets called Anna and Simeon who had a message of hope and good news about the coming Messiah, before they then met him themselves.
In response, we had different children come up to the front of the hall, step up and use the megaphone to share positive messages of their own with the rest of the school, using their oracy skills in the process.
A huge well done to those who had the courage to do this!
On Tuesday, last week, some of our children attended Silksworth Tennis Centre to take part in a tennis competition. The children completed a range of activities and left the event as winners in first place – we are so proud!🎾🥇🏅
KS1 multi-sports club took part in a mini Olympics last week, working on different running, throwing and jumping techniques!
This week, some of our children have been to a year 1/2 gymnastics competition and a year 3/4 competition too! It was brilliant to see all the hard work they’ve put in during their PE lessons been shown off and also the apparent progression through the year groups!
What a fab first week back for our Chicken and Duck clubbers. We kept warm last week by getting the fire going and roasting some popcorn!
St. Oswald’s were super lucky today and had a visit from the Dog’s Trust! Our friend taught us all about how to approach a dog when we’re out and about with our grown ups!
