Year one’s task was to design and build a model of a London Taxi that could move smoothly when pushed. Their design brief was to have four wheels, axles and a chassis. Wow
Great job year one
Year 1 have had an amazing rich experience this afternoon, linked to our DT topic on taxis. Nissan visited us! We got the chance to use all the rich language we have learnt during our topic and put all of our knowledge to good use. We practised using chopsticks and even learnt a new language!
Year 3 spent the discussion section of their RE lesson today investigating Keith Hebden and what he did to show love to others. We worked in pairs, in the hall, and discovered clues to help us answer key questions on Keith Hebden, his actions and how they linked to Jesus’ teachings.
As part of our science unit, Year 5 have investigated reaction times. We had several age ranges take part in our test to measure their reaction time, and then looked to see what patterns we could establish, and which range had the speediest time!
Some of our Year 3 and 4s had a jam packed day last Friday in the sunshine! We spent the morning investigating volcanoes and conducting our own science experiment to replicate a real life eruption! We used our clay skills to make clay faces, and decorated the nature garden with our ‘spirit of the trees’. We then finished our day making pizzas in the pizza oven before toasting marshmallows around the campfire
As part of our Sow Grow and Farm topic, Year 5 have loved using our geographical skills to work out how far our food has travelled!

Year 5 have been continuing with the PE unit, gymnastics, focusing on rolls and jumps, and how we can put these together in a sequence.
This week in Adult and Child Craft Club, we created pop up Easter Eggs where we featured as the pop ups inside of the egg. Adult and Child Craft Club will run next half term again on a Tuesday night!
Over the past half term at Adult and Child Craft Club, we created automaton toys. These turned rotational movement into vertical movement!
