During transition this morning, Year 4 were learning about how sound travels across distances. We made our own string telephones to test out our theories and learned that we needed the string to be tight in order for our sound vibrations to travel to our partners ear!
Penelope had lots of fun celebrating her sisters christening on Sunday. The priest even let her help pour the water!
Year one have designed, created and are going to evaluate our Great Fire of London Tudor houses. We are so excited to burn these with Mr Scrafton soon!! 
On Tuesday afternoon Year 2 created their own boats in DT. To bring together our history and geography learning we had to think about how we could create a boat which could transport objects. We had to join together materials and cut our resources to the right shape, evaluating as we went to make them sturdier and ensure they won’t sink!
Year 5 have had a brilliant day with their Bede Burn pen pals! We spent the morning at Bede Burn school, getting to know each other and then completing some maths challenges set by Mr Usher. We then spent the afternoon back at St Oswalds where we competed an orienteering trial. We can’t wait for our next collaboration day already!
Last round of football matches tonight for our boys! Another brilliant match played and we are so proud of the team you are playing as now, we’ve watched you go from strength to strength each time! Massive well done boys

Yesterday year 1 learnt all about the Islamic festival Ramadan and Eid
al-Fitr as part of RE World Faith Festivals. We then created our own
crescent moon craft which we could use as a decoration for Eid
al-Fitr. We think they’re super, we hope you do too!

‘After a bout of covid for Erin our Easter break got off to a slow start but we still managed to squeeze in some lovely days out. On Good Friday we drove up to Craster for a walk along the coast and visited Dunstanburgh Castle not forgetting our traditional fish and chips. We caught up with friends, went bowling with our cousin, Joe took his first trip on the South Shields ferry, Reggie celebrated his 1st birthday with a pupcake and Erin enjoyed her Auntie Gemma’s baby shower…

‘Wow what a jam-packed Easter Phoebe & Sophie have had! We went rock pooling & a sports event at Souter Lighthouse, 2 Easter parties meeting special guests, trips out to museums, Good Friday spent at the fair & bowling and finished it off with a trip to whitehouse farm where we fed the baby lambs and petted rabbits, mice & guinea pigs. As well as spending time with family and friends. We’ve had so much fun!’
‘Alfie has been doing some work helping to restock the shelves at Hebburn Helps and learning about food parcels. Him and Oscar also met the Easter bunny and got a yummy Easter egg!’
