Year 3 have been learning about fables. They chose a fable to perform, rehearsed their lines, actions and expressions, then performed their fable to the rest of the class. They were fantastic actors.
Reception have had a fantastic week and are loving their new topic of Castles and Knights! We have had a great week looking at where knights live and exploring how castles are different to our own houses. We have taken lots of our learning outdoors too and have been enjoying the lovely sunshine ️!
Year 5 had their first Forest school session of the term. We studied features of our local forest looking at its layers and compared this to the rainforests of the world. We considered how plants and animals might be best suited to specific layers and what factors may lead to the rapid growth of plants in the rainforest.
Yesterday during Worship, Year 4 looked at the story of Shadrach, Mesach and Abednego. This was an unfamiliar story from the Bible for most of our class! After learning the story Mr Richardson challenged us to create some freeze frames retelling certain scenes. We worked in two groups with Mr Barron and Miss Topping and ‘froze’ each scene to retell the story (left to right).
This week Year 2’s Worship challenge was to listen to the story of David and Goliath and think about how David felt throughout the story. First we identified the key parts of the story and then the emotions linked to each part. We are going to use drama to retell the story.
Maddie said she had lots of fun today learning about where she’s from so after school Maddie, Teddy the dog and Dad went on a little mission around Hebburn and took a couple of photos of the town we live and love 🙂🙂
Today for their RE lesson, Year 1 brought their special item in from home. They explained why they were important, who they belonged too and evaluated how they should treat our special item.
Noah was keen to share his Easter plans with everyone! His mam told us, ‘We had a lovely time over Easter, here is some of what Noah has been up to, Including an Easter Egg hunt, visit to the park with a KFC treat, a scoot around the quayside on Noah’s new scooter and a bbq on the beach which was fun!’
Here is our lovely Maddie sharing some of the fun things she has been up to in the last few weeks!
