On Tuesday 15th October 2019, Y6 went to the Victoria Tunnel, where we experienced what it was like to take shelter during a WWII air raid. Because it’s so dark in the tunnel, most of our photographs are from the classroom session, where we heard from Basil, a 90-year-old man who was ten at the outbreak of war. He shared with us wartime experiences, including some of the smells of the tunnel back then and the strength of the helmets worn during air raids. A fab day!
