As a staff we have discussed the acknowledgement of birthdays each week for the children. Previously, we have always sang in our Praise and Celebration Worship, in addition to birthday stickers and blowing out the candles on our cake. Unfortunately, we have been unable to do almost all of these things in recent months, instead we have been giving a big, birthday cheer and having a silent boogie to the birthday song, each week.
We understand that the children are missing their usual birthday treats such as seeing friends and family, and parties, so we got to thinking about how we could allow the children to safely celebrate in school. As such, we have decided that we will continue our weekly birthday cheer during our Praise and Celebration Worship, but also hold a small birthday celebration for a short period, on the last Friday of each month.
On this Friday, our first being this week, the children will spend time celebrating with their peers, have juice and a sweet treat, and listen to party music. All of this will be carried out in line with our comprehensive risk assessments and we will continue to ensure that health and safety is our upmost priority.
We would kindly ask that no birthday sweets or treat are brought in from home for this, we will provide these ourselves, ensuring all allergies are catered for. We will also celebrate all birthdays which have taken place from September to now, on Friday.
Thank you for your ongoing support!
