Y6 were fab today when reading notation and focusing on the duration of different notes in relation to time signatures and bars. We composed a short piece together using notes from the C major pentatonic scale that we learned last week. Next step: compose our own ternary pieces digitally using Garage Band. Piece of cake! 😀
Y6 had some deep discussions with our visitors from the NSPCC this morning. We evaluated the appropriateness of different scenarios and learned about how to receive support in the case of each of these.
Y6 had a fabulous morning at the Dhammakaya Meditation Centre. We learned about what Buddhists believe, how they support our local community and also took part in some meditation, considering its impact upon our mental health. A fab trip!
Y6 have been writing setting descriptions of the northern lights in line with our frozen kingdoms topic. Here’s Katie’s fabulous piece of work along with the image she was describing. Well done Katie and Y6!
Year 6 have been putting their skills to the test and have created these amazing soap sculptures! Wow!
Y6 loved ‘Christmas Through Age’ day! They compared and contrasted what Christmas is like for people of their own age up to those in their 60s and many in between. The day certainly made us feel even more festive. Roll on all the Christmas activities of next week!
Y6 have loved STEM week! They’ve been making some fab light-based products and there’s such a variety on offer. Well done, Y6!
Our Y6 children have loved their Christmas STEM week, watch this space to see their creations!
Our Y6 children have been investigating which exercise would raise their heart rate the most, which do you think?!
