Year 1 had a fantastic day last week learning all about different jobs! In the morning we watched a video of Miss Booth’s brother Michael who is a pilot 👨🏻✈️🛫, we then went and spoke to Nicola, our school cook and learnt all about her job as a chef 🧑🏼🍳 we then wrote about which job interested us the most. In the afternoon we watched a video of a Disney princess 👸🏼who visits little children for their parties! We all wanted to wear a beautiful princess dress after that! We then finished the day by writing about what we aspire to be when we are older! What a brilliant aspirations day Year 1!👏
For worship this week Mrs Smith challenged us to think about what we aspire to be in the future. Year one have been discussing what they aspire to be and thought about what qualities we need to help us achieve this. We then used our computing skills by taking a picture of our work and recording our voices to explain what we have done.
For Year 1s RE learning today we have been looking at the Jewish festival of Sukkot. On the morning we learnt all about what this is, why they celebrate Sukkot and how they build their own Sukkah’s (tents). On the afternoon we got creative and made our own versions of Sukkah’s. Well done year 1️
This week in year 1, we have been learning all about questions in English, first we recapped on the story of Little Red Riding Hood and discussed which questions we would ask her. We then wrote our own questions. We have then used role play and hot seating to get into character and answer the questions posed to us. Miss Booth and Miss Robson were so impressed with the inference skills used today! Great job

This week we have continued our daffodil art. We have observed real daffodils and developed our sketching techniques using tone and texture. We have then applied our skills again and painted daffodils using the appropriate shapes and colours.
Maddie’s been walking to school with her mam and dad parked 10 minutes away tonight and took Maddie’s scooter!
Alfie wanted to push his sister Sofia to school today, he got his steps in walking, whilst pushing the pram! What a super big brother you are, Alfie!
