Today Year one have investigated how the appearance of ice changes as it melts. We predicted what would happen to the ice and then we investigated this with our hands. We then discussed what we found and wrote a conclusion. Year 1 used some fantastic vocabulary this afternoon such as solid, liquid, dissolve, transforms! Great job

This afternoon in year 1 we have evaluated our aboriginal art work in
an art gallery style. The children’s artwork was placed randomly
around the classroom and the children carouselled around looking at
all of the different pieces. The aim was to be positive but also
critical to see how we could improve our work. The children were asked
to discuss the following: can you identify the native animal? Have
they used the dot technique well? Is there a range of colours and
pattern? Do you like the pieces? Can you suggest how it could be
improved? The children were fantastic at this and are really becoming
evaluative artists! Great job year 1 ![]()

Well what a day year 1 had for World Book Day!
Firstly everyone
looked so amazing and were all so excited about the day of learning.
We started the day by reading the story of Vlad and The Great Fire of
London ![]()
we then formulated questions for the characters in the
story and took part in hot seating role play where the children used
their knowledge of the story and their historical knowledge to give a
response. In the afternoon we learnt about communication in the past
and focused on town criers. We then wrote our own messages on a scroll
and role played being a town crier! Well done year, great performances
and super knowledge of The Great Fire of London!
