Year 2 – Safer Internet Week – 11.02.2021

Year 2 have had a busy week with their computing. Throughout the week we have learnt and applied new skills linked to Google Slides. We have added text, images and videos as well as editing the text and backgrounds on our slides. To finish our live lessons some children presented their slides and powerpoints.

During our English and RSE lessons we have had discussions about how to stay safe online. We have wrote our own letters of advice to traditional tale characters and an acrostic poem. We have been blown away with everyone’s learning this week, both in school and at home. Well done Year 2!

Year 2 – Tally Charts – 09.02.2021

On Tuesday 9th February 2021 Year 2 linked their maths to Safer Internet Day. We collected data on different devices we have at home. As a class we created a tally chart and table. We then used Purple Mash to create our own pictograms and block diagrams.

Miss Pape popped in to see learning this afternoon and was blown away by the superb art work being completed in year 2. How fab do these look?! Keep it up year 2!

Year 2 – Worship Challenge Feelings Monster – 02.02.2021

Today Year 2 completed their worship challenge. First we played an emotions board game with our partner. We had to identify different times we have felt an emotion. Next we created our own feelings monster. Lots of us had happy monsters but we all used different colours to represent this emotion and had a different reason why we have felt happy. We loved this week’s challenge.

Year 2 – Noah’s Indoor Camping Night – 01.02.2021

Noah has been in for such a treat at home. His mam sent us some fab photos!
 
“Here are some pictures from our indoor camping night. Noah’s tent is a NASA tent with information on it about important dates in space history, such as first moon landing etc. I though this tied in with him learning about explorers as he chose Tim Peake as his present explorer 🚀🪐”

Year 2- Shape Hunting – 28.01.2021

Today in Maths Year 2 have been busy. We went outside to identify different 2-D and 3-D shapes. We recorded the different shapes we round, as well as the different faces on the 3-D shape. We then applied our computing skills and created our own PicCollage. We had to decide on which images we wanted to use, label the images with the shapes and some of us edited the images and font. We will upload our own collage onto our Google Classroom.

Year 2 – Ella’s Uniform – 22.01.2021

Our lovely Ella is wearing her uniform for online learning. Mam said, “I just wanted to share this little photo of Ella from this morning. She was absolutely adamant that she wanted to wear her school uniform for online learning – she said she wanted to “look smart and fancy”! I think she’s definitely missing school. Dad got her some treats for this afternoon for making such a good effort!”
