Today Year 2 completed their worship challenge. First we played an emotions board game with our partner. We had to identify different times we have felt an emotion. Next we created our own feelings monster. Lots of us had happy monsters but we all used different colours to represent this emotion and had a different reason why we have felt happy. We loved this week’s challenge.
Today in Maths Year 2 have been busy. We went outside to identify different 2-D and 3-D shapes. We recorded the different shapes we round, as well as the different faces on the 3-D shape. We then applied our computing skills and created our own PicCollage. We had to decide on which images we wanted to use, label the images with the shapes and some of us edited the images and font. We will upload our own collage onto our Google Classroom.
On Wednesday afternoon Year 2 braved the rain and completed Mr Barron’s PE challenge! We had lots of fun and loved the friendly competition!
Zachary had a lovely surprise visit this morning to wish him a happy 7th birthday!
Our lovely Ella is wearing her uniform for online learning. Mam said, “I just wanted to share this little photo of Ella from this morning. She was absolutely adamant that she wanted to wear her school uniform for online learning – she said she wanted to “look smart and fancy”! I think she’s definitely missing school. Dad got her some treats for this afternoon for making such a good effort!”
On Thursday afternoon Year 2 completed a comprehension about Christopher Columbus. After our live session with the rest of the class we all decided to create a Google Slide presentation to explain about the explorer and his achievements. Miss McKeown, Mrs Pennock and Miss Britton were all impressed with our independence and confidence using technology.
On Tuesday Mrs Hope set us a worship challenge. The children and staff in school had to think about “how do we know we are loved?” We recorded names and things which made us feel loved.
Jenson would like to tell everyone at St Oswald’s that he’s completed all his work before he can have lockdown birthday celebrations ??

Alice was super keen to continue her learning first thing on a Saturday morning! Here are some photos of her experimenting with magnets. She has ordered some fridge magnets in order of strength and used some great vocabulary to explain her experiments.
