This morning, reception have the pleasure of starting our day with Toast Tuesday! We had a breakfast treat of toast with our friends! We discussed why it’s important to have breakfast and why it is important for our health.

Yesterday afternoon, reception have been continuing their RE learning of belonging by focusing on the Hindu festival of Raksha Bandhan. This festival is traditionally celebrated between siblings but we have focused on our friends too. The children have made bracelets and tied them on each others wrists as a symbol of love and protection! 
This week in RE, reception class have been continuing their learning on belonging. We have been learning all about a traditional Christian baptism and the symbols of this special service.
Today reception have been learning about Sir David Attenborough to celebrate his 100th birthday. We have been learning about who he is and why he’s famous. We have spent time outdoors exploring nature just like Sir David Attenborough. 

Reception loved their visit to the library again, today! We can’t believe we only have one more visit to go before the end of the year! Thank you so much to our lovely librarian Catherine for making our visit fabulous!
This morning, reception continued with their Parable of Peace learning of The Lost Sheep. We used blindfolds to go into the darkness and we had to use our voices to speak to one another, guessing who we were. Well done superstars, you loved this activity 
Reception had a wonderful time exploring the outdoors, searching for spider webs. We discussed where we might find them and looked closely at the web patterns. Afterwards, we used our fine motor skills to weave our own webs.
Reception has a great day learning about William Shakespeare. They explored who he was and why he is still important today. The children worked together to recreate the Globe Theatre using building blocks. They also used their sketching and painting skills to create portraits of William Shakespeare, thinking carefully about lines, shades and tones to add detail and expression.

Reception had a wonderful morning on our minibeast safari! We have hunted all things that creep, crawl and wriggle! 🪰🐜🐞
