Year 3 – Outdoor Learning – 05.11.2020

Teamwork and resilience were the order of the day on Thursday when Y3 were blessed with perfect conditions for forest school. Mr Hayton planned a great session, building on skills from our previous sessions to build a raft from sticks in the nature garden. We even took our computing learning outdoors and created our school computer network in human form. Back in the classroom for English and we used the app Vocab Lab to unleash our ninja powers on some boring sentences.

Year 3 – Miles Away Monday in Japan – 02.11.2020

Year 3 have had a fantastic day learning all about Japan. This morning we developed our geographical knowledge using atlases and maps to locate Japan and then used the internet to research it’s human and physical characteristics. This afternoon we looked at Manga art and created our own Manga characters following steps and including key features. The children thoroughly enjoyed the day and have learnt lots too.

Y2 – Self Isolation – Paige celebrates her birthday – 29.4.2020

Here are a few photos of how Paige celebrated her birthday during lockdown. She had a fantastic day with presents, cards and video calls from her friends. It was such a lovely day she got to spend lots of time on her new scooter and we stayed up late so all of the family could sing happy birthday!

Y2 – Self Isolation – Grace has fun – 22.4.2020

Grace and myself made salt dough we are going to paint and varnish them when they dry and give them out to special people who have been kind and helped people she has already decided she’s giving her aunty Debbie one as she’s a nurse and been going into work throughout this horrible time.
We will be decorating them once they have dried she has really struggled with what’s going on atm and is missing school so much so has been playing on her bouncy castle in the garden to take her mind of it.
Grace can’t wait to get back to school to see all the teachers and her friends and to say a massive thank you for delivering her lunch every week day she looks forward to it coming to see what She’s going to get bless her she’s funny.

Y2 – Self Isolation – Miss McKeown has a close shave – 22.4.2020

Morning everyone. I hope everyone had a lovely Easter spending time together and enjoying their Easter eggs.
Between working from home I’ve been enjoying going for lots of runs and long walks. It’s been lovely bumping into some of the children and their families while I’ve been out- at a distance! I’ve also enjoyed time reading in the garden. I’m hoping to finish this book soon. I’m learning so much about the second world was as I am reading it!
This week I have thought about Mrs Smith’s worship challenge. Keeping really positive and in touch with friends and family as much as I can. I’ve also been thanking my neighbour who works as a nurse for the NHS with a small pamper package. And today I am looking forward to being out in the community helping Angie and her team at Hebburn Helps.
I’ve learnt a new skill this week as well- I’ve been trusted to shave Jonny’s hair 🙈!
I am missing everyone at school and sending lots of love to you all.
