We love a STEM week in Year 3 and this one has been no different! After researching the ancient craft of weaving, the children then began to plan their own designs, inspired by the Ancient Maya. We are so pleased with their efforts so far.

Year 3 have been learning about fables. They chose a fable to perform, rehearsed their lines, actions and expressions, then performed their fable to the rest of the class. They were fantastic actors.
The Burtons & Andersons spent a lovely family day out to the farm and took a walk down to feed some ducks at the park, the children had a lovely day!! Even though it was such a windy day they all had to chase their caps which made it even more fun 😀
Year 3 loved orienteering this week! Year 3 would definitely like to do this again. Thank you Mr Barron
Last week, year 3 started their Far Away Friday with a Kahoot Quiz and soon realised there was so much to learn about Jordon. So with this in mind, in teams, they set off on an outdoor fact finding mission. Soon they were scanning QR codes around the school yard and researching facts about Jordan such as traditional foods, the flag, language, their regions and the ancient city of Petra.
Year 3 have had a fabulous afternoon of Forest School! Our learning today was science based and all about soil. We got our hands nice and dirty by pulling it to pieces and looking at its composition. After we had investigated this and thought about the things that soil is useful for, we put on our gardening gloves and planted some wild flowers too.
Year 3 have been thinking about their time away from school and how important it is to be with people you love. To celebrate all the special women in their lives, they made cards and digital word clouds. Some children inserted voice recordings to send a special message too. Happy Mother’s Day!
On Tuesday 2nd March Year 5 spent the afternoon with Miss French collecting data about the planets in our solar system and then transporting that data into graphs, some of us even tried doing this on google sheets and evaluated our findings. We were very impressed with the results!
Homeschoolers from Year 3 are always keen to show off their computing skills. Tasked with producing a story map to plan the narrative of their poems, they set to work researching, inserting and arranging images using Jamboard. We think they look fantastic and will be a great help when they come to do more planning this week.
