Before half term, Year 4 visited St Paul’s church to visit the ruins of the monastery there as part of their Invasion topic. We looked at maps of how the monastery would of looked and worked out where things would’ve been. We thought about how the monks would have lived in Anglo Saxon times, and how different this would have been from our modern day life. It was amazing to find out that parts of St Paul’s church that are still standing today were from Anglo Saxon times.
We were super lucky to have Mrs B as history lead with us who talked to us about Bede, and how much of a significant part he played in our history…we couldn’t believe that such an important historian lived so close!
