Today Year 4 had a little adventure out to the ferry. As part of our English work, we are writing a diary entry about a journey on a river…so what better inspiration than an actual trip on a boat.

We thought about what we could see and smell, how it felt to be on a boat and what we could hear. When we reached the other side, we put our Geography heads on, and used this opportunity to look at the features of a river we could spot, linked to our ‘Misty Mountain, Windy River’ topic.

We looked at the use of the river along both the North and South sides, pointed out the meanders in the river and how we could see the mouth of the river. What a great morning linked to so much of our learning!
