Yesterday, Y6 had the privilege of welcoming their class champion and school governor Chrissy Hardy onto site for an outdoor discussion session around mental health. We used a plastic bowl to represent a fictional person and added water to represent all the struggles in his life. This helped us to understand how people can feel overwhelmed by life’s challenges. However, there was good news. Chrissy explained that when we share our difficulties with others and find coping strategies, we can improve our mood and feel better about ourselves, represented by water being tipped out of the bowl. Thank you Chrissy for a really effective and reflective lesson and well done Y6 for being so open, honest and mature!
