On Friday afternoon, Year 1 completed an online workshop about the Great Fire of London with the National Archives. Children found out why our government stores documents at the National Archives and then they explored different historical sources of evidence to prove key ideas about the Great Fire of London. Children even used a document relating to a hearth tax to find Thomas Farriner (the baker) in Pudding Lane where the fire started! Children were so engaged and this was such a valuable experience for them. Well done Year 1!
